Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Friday's Observations features a daughter of Reem Three (GB) (Mark Of Esteem {Ire}).

15.10 Haydock, Novice, £10,000, 2yo, f, 7f 212yT
BOLSENA (IRE) (Kingman {GB}) is the latest progeny out of Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum's wonder mare Reem Three (GB) (Mark Of Esteem {Ire}), whose list of seven classy performers includes the fellow Kevin Ryan-trained G1 Queen Anne S. hero Triple Time (Ire) (Frankel {GB}) and Cape Byron (GB) (Shamardal) and Ajman Princess (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}). Her rivals include Godolphin's Dazzling Jewel (Fr) (Dubawi {Ire}), a Charlie Appleby-trained daughter of the G1 Cheveley Park S. winner Lumiere (GB)  (Shamardal) and full-sister to the smart Highland Avenue (Ire), and Yuesheng Zhang's fellow newcomer Simple Endeavour (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), an Andrew Balding-trained relative of Barney Roy (GB) (Excelebration {Ire}) who cost 800,000gns at the Tatts Book 1 Sale.

14.00 Saint-Cloud, Cond, €30,000, 2yo, f, 7 1/2fT
MULTIPLE CHOICE (IRE) (No Nay Never) caused a stir at last year's Tatts Book 1 Sale when a 780,000gns purchase by Gestut Schlenderhan and is one of three newcomers in this Prix Ravinella. She is a half-sister to the G2 Summer Mile winner and G1 Prix d'Ispahan runner-up Tilsit (First Defence) from the superb Juddmonte family of Kingman (GB) et al.

19.30 Kempton, Mdn, £15,000, 3yo/up, f/m, 8fT
DOHA (GB) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) makes her belated debut over a possibly inadequate trip in a weak maiden, but is big news by virtue of the fact that she is the fourth foal out of the remarkable dual Arc heroine Treve (Fr) (Motivator {GB}). Entrusted to Ralph Beckett by Al Shaqab Racing, the homebred meets eight rivals on this Polytrack bow.
